Here are a couple of recent Tripadvisor reviews from September 2015 – December 2015!

“We recently stayed here and could not have picked a better place. The room was clean, had AC, great food, and wonderful view. However, the staff and owner were absolutely the best part of the stay. Unbelievably friendly and always willing to help in whatever way possible. You cannot beat the free breakfast and free kayaking in such a wonderful setting. We loved El Nido and both agreed that we will come back in the future because of our great stay here. I would 100% recommend anyone traveling to El Nido to stay here.” – Mari E., Toronto, Canada

“We selected a beautiful cottage, the closest one to the beach, with 2 double beds, good size, and two living rooms outside, one in front and one to the sea. The service is very good, all the staff is very helpful, breakfast included is very good, on arrival they have a tricycle to go for the bags to town. They offer private island hopping at the same rate from other group agencies, and have free kayaks to lend. Cadlao island is in front, and it takes 20 – 30 minutes to get to beautiful lonely beaches (they will prepare lunch for you to take, but beware of monkeys and dogs in the beach). Very clean, changed towels and linens everyday. Naoko the owner is amazing, very kind and generous. This is a place to be away from the noise and buzz of the city center, nights are very quiet only listening to the waves and the birds.” – Juestra, Sao Paulo, Brazil

“We stayed there with my family of 6 January 2015. Initially we were booked to 2 small rooms with an added bed each to accommodate all of us. Upon arrival, Naoko, the friendly owner, upgraded us to a family room(Kayak 1) that is very spacious and have a good view of the sea. Naoko and her whole crew was very friendly. They offered free snacks and drinks. They lent us flashlights during the night if we were to walk to the town. A service tricycle was also available for those who don’t want to walk. They have their own boat for the tours which is a big plus. They give senior citizen discounts to two of my grandmothers who were with us too. Finally, they have this cute dog named Yokie who is very friendly and so lovable. Will definitely go back here.” – Aaron, Quezon City, Philippines

“Me and my husband came here as our last stop on our honeymoon. We read of this place on trip advisor and decided it was the place for us. And we have not regretted it. We have been travelling for 6 months and stayed in everything from luxury hotels to low priced hostels but this has by far been the best experience. I work as a air hostess and spend half my time in hotels. If any of them was like this place, I would never miss home. What makes the place so special is Naoko. She is the heart and soul of the resort. She gave us home made cookies, the best tuna sandwish in the world when we were going kayaking, made free lunch when we missed breakfast with chocolate cake for desert. She gave us a flashlight for the walk to town in the evenings and umbrellas when it was raining. When I broke my flip flop on the beach she actually fixed it for me. The way she runs this place is truly amazing. The staff and her make you feel so welcome cause their a family. They treat each other with the utmost respect and helps you with whatever you need. Its honestly the best atmosphere I have ever experienced. The cottages are big and clean and got everything you need. Its our last day here today after 10 days and we will truly miss this place a lot. Thank you so much Naoko for making our stay so amazing. If we ever have the chance to come back to El Nido we know where we are going to stay.” – anneaamlid

“One of not the hardest thing to plan for a travel is choosing a place to stay. It requires days of reading reviews, browsing for cheapest but acceptable accommodations, sending inquiries, exchanging emails and bargaining of cost if possible. However, The management of Taiyo Beach Resort made it easy for me.
Located at Brgy. Caalan basically, the last beach front resort in the area. We are welcomed by the staff and the owner Naoko Hiler, A lovely, generous, kind and accommodating Japanese lady. Exchanging emails with here was fun and exciting.

Included on top 5 specialty lodging In at EL Nido based from Tripadvisor. Taiyo beach resort should be considered on your list when planning to go to EL Nido. Although its approximately 15 mins. away from town via tricycle. I still prefer to wake up seeing the Sun, the clear blue sky, the islands, the blue crystal clear water and to feel the fresh air compared to some accommodations in town, although, convenience is an advantage in town, since its near from different establishments in the small place of EL Nido. The management will compromised it by their free tricycle going to town.

I can’t find the best word to describe Naoko. From the beginning I was touched when we are exchanging emails and offered me which I believe one of the biggest rooms at the Resort which is the Kayak 1 for a very reasonable price. 4 beds, with veranda, cabinet, equipped with AC, Refrigerator and hot/cold shower. We found the room too big for 4 people, but can be considered the best because of the great view from the Veranda. Ideally, the price of the room during our stay should be around 4,200/night for 4px and yet she told me that whatever we can afford she is fine with that. She just wants us to enjoy EL Nido since we are a first timer in the island. Given that it’s low season 3,000/night is a good deal for a beachfront resort in EL Nido.

The place is a big peaceful garden beach resort. Generally, clean since you will not be allowed to enter your room wearing your slippers and they are cleaning the walkway, the room and changing the towels every day. There is a small kubo in the ground where you can drink with your friends. Alcoholic drinks are available in the resort, but limited in choices. Thanks to Tessa, who is also managing the resort for giving us a free San Mig lights. There is a fresh lounge for breakfast where you can also play table tennis, yet the best part for me was lying on a beach chair at the beach front where you can just lay down, relax and have a great view of the sea and islands.

Tessa is also exceptional as Naoko. She is cool and hospitable. She always makes sure that we are okay. She managed our breakfast, arranged the payment for the environmental fee, help me to look for cheap land transfer from Puerto Princesa to El Nido and prepared us “baon” when we left El Nido. The same token, to all the staff of the resort who accommodate us on our discounted island hopping tour.

In conclusion, Taiyo beach resort might not be the best you can have when it terms of facilities, but the hospitality of the people managing and working here are the best I ever experienced from my year of travels. Naoko and Tessa will roll and bend if possible just to make sure we are enjoying our stay. I can’t thank them enough for making our stay in El Nido affordable and memorable. I’m looking forward to go back here whenever possible.

This place is highly recommended when you are planning to visit EL Nido.” – travelosyo, Valenzuela, Philippines
